On March 26, 2021, international scientific-practical conference "Innovative Progress in Internal Medicine Research" was held at Samarkand State Medical Institute. The conference was attended by more than 250 leading experts from universities and research institutes of Turkey, Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Tajikistan.

  Thus, the plenary session of the international conference was solemnly opened by Rector of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, Prof. Jasur Rizaev. Academicians, heads and leading scientists of universities of the republic and other countries sent their greetings and wishes of success to all participants of the scientific forum. After the reports made at the plenary session, the main work continued at the eight sectional meetings of the forum, where topical issues of internal medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, nephrology and family medicine were discussed. The speakers also paid particular attention to the current topical issue of the consequences of COVID-19 and issues of comorbidity.
  The International Scientific-Practical Conference "Innovative Progress in Internal Medicine Research", which was held at Samarkand State Medical Institute, will certainly contribute significantly to improving the quality of medical personnel training in the country, introducing the developments of fundamental medicine in the practical healthcare industry, further strengthening international cooperation of Samarkand State Medical Institute and other medical universities of the republic with the leading foreign medical universities and research centres.
