The healthcare system of the country is currently facing the task of improving the quality of local medical services to the population and improving medical and preventive measures. The staff of the Samarkand State Medical Institute is also making a significant contribution to local medical examinations and the clarification of the basics of a healthy lifestyle.
In particular, the staff of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Department of Dentistry No. 2 have conducted field medical examinations in Urgut and Kattakurgan districts as well as in the Kattakurgan city in order to provide practical assistance to primary health units in district health centres and improve the quality of medical care.
Thus, in Urgut district, medical examination was arranged under the supervision of N. J. Khushvakova, Head of Department of Otorhinolaryngology, in the village of Kuyi Tegana on the basis of secondary school No.81. U. Kholboev, lecturer of the Department of Dentistry No.2. and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry A.A. Astanov conducted preventive dental care for pupils of secondary school No.107. The conducted medical examinations and consultations were warmly welcomed by the population and the district health department.
In addition, employees of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology visited health facilities of Kattakurgan district and Kattakurgan city, where students of 5th and 6th years are currently undergoing clinical internship. Students are assigned to primary health care facilities and provide practical assistance in medical anthropometry of the population, work on explanation of prevention and treatment of non-infectious diseases, healthy lifestyle, organizing medical examinations of heavy patients by the staff of the Institute. The institute's staff here have conducted medical examinations and a series of master classes for students and staff of local health care institutions.
Lastly, it should be noted that, the activities of SamSMI students and teachers have been well-received by the staff of health care institutions and the local population.
