On February 25-26, 2022, the International scientific and practical conference “Innovative approaches and prospects of modern stomatology and maxillofacial surgery” was held at Samarkand State Medical Institute. The scientific forum was dedicated to the memory of the outstanding doctor, Doctor of Medical Sciences S.E. Kubaev (1959-2014). More than 250 representatives of medical universities and scientific and practical centers of Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the international conference.
At the opening of the International Scientific Conference Rector of SamSMI Zh.A. Rizaev, First Deputy Minister of Health A.Sh. Inoyatov (RUz), Director of Central Research Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery F.F. Losev (RF), Rector of Belarusian State Medical University S.P. Rubnikovich (RB), director of Institute of Dentistry of Privolzhsky Research Medical University E.A. Durnovo (RF), rector of TSDI N.K. Khaidarov (RUz), rector of Saratov State Medical University A.V. Eremin (RF), professor of chair of surgical dentistry of Milan Medical University D.Lops (Italy), head of department of prosthetic dentistry of Kyrgyz State Medical Academy A.A. Karabaev (RK) delivered welcoming speeches to the participants of the forum. Participants underlined importance of development and adjustment of international cooperation in sphere of stomatology and maxillofacial surgery, emphasized positive role of scientific forums in development of corresponding spheres of practical public health services. The speakers also shared their warm memories about Dr. Saidolim Esirgapovich Kubayev, noting his contribution to the expansion of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery in the region.
After the plenary session the work of the scientific forum continued in five sections, including “Modern Advances in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Implantology”, “Innovative methods of diagnosis and treatment in therapeutic dentistry”, “Prospects of prosthetic dentistry”, “Contemporary issues of pediatric dentistry and orthodontics” and “Dentistry through the eyes of young scientists”. Actual practical achievements were presented and interesting lectures on corresponding topics in dentistry were made.
International scientific-practical conference "Innovative approaches and prospects of modern dentistry and maxillofacial surgery" held at Samarkand State Medical Institute will certainly contribute to further improving the quality of training of qualified personnel in the field of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, the introduction of fundamental developments in practical health care, strengthening of international relations with leading medical universities and scientific and practical centers of foreign countries.
