A delegation of Turkish higher educational institutions visited Samarkand State Medical Institute on January 26. The delegation headed by Chairman of Higher Education Council of Turkey Mr. Erol Özvar was welcomed by Rector of SamSMI Zhasur Rizaev.
The members of Turkish delegation acquainted with the conditions created at the institute, material and technical facilities, classrooms and laboratories. The glorious history of the Institute and the scientific schools created and functioning in all fields of medicine and healthcare were seen by Turkish guests in the museum.
During the visit, head of the Turkish delegation, Mr. Erol Özvar expressed his admiration of the material and technical basis for the educational process and the scientific potential of the faculty of the Institute.
A solemn meeting was held at the conference hall of the new building of Samarkand State Medical Institute with participation of representatives of “University of Health Sciences (Turkey)”, institute administration and faculty. The solemn meeting was opened with welcome speech of Rector Prof Zhasur Alimjanovich Rizaev and noted longstanding historical and cultural relations of our region with friendly Turkey, established close ties with Turkish colleagues, projects implemented in scientific research sphere, academic mobility of teachers and staff of the institute in Turkish universities.
There was also a ceremony of awarding the rector of the “University of Health Sciences”, Cevdet Erdӧl with the honorary title of professor of Samarkand State Medical Institute. In his reply Prof Cevdet Erdӧl expressed his sincere gratitude to the management and staff of the Institute and his readiness to develop and expand cooperation with Samarkand State Medical Institute. Memorable gifts were also presented to other guests, representatives of the administration of the “University of Health Sciences”, which contribute significantly to the development of cooperation between our universities.
Turkish guests, noting the historical significance of this solemn meeting, thanked the staff and administration of Samarkand State Medical Institute for their warm welcome and wished success in the preparation of highly qualified medical personnel.
