Training seminar on finding materials, scientific sources and publishing articles in highly rated journals was held for the teachers of departments of histology, cytology and embryology, medical biology, as well as operative surgery and topographic anatomy in new academic building of Samarkand State Medical Institute.

  Umida Payzullaeva, head of division on organization of research work of talented students, talked about type of scientific and educational information in various sources, varieties of electronic libraries of scientific publications, methods of searching scientific literature on topics, searching for journals included in Scopus and terms of publishing in them, also were touched upon issues about citation index, impact factor and Hirsch index.

  The workshop also touched on issues of citation, impact factor and Hirsch index, and the proper formatting of scientific articles as well as peculiarities of official correspondence with journals' editorial boards. The audience noted the importance of such sessions in instilling the skills of scientific publication activity in today's scientific environment.

  The workshop took place in a discussion format and the participants received answers to all their questions.
