On December 15-18, 2021, delegation of Department of Otorhinolaryngology №1 of Samarkand State Medical Institute led by Prof. Nilufar Jurakulovna Khushvakova participated in the International Congress “5th Congress of Nazionale Società Italiana di Rinologia” in Rome, Italy. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Gianluca Belocchi (Medical University of Rome), Prof. Desiderio Passali (Medical University of Siena), Prof. Gaetano Motta (Medical University of Naples) and Prof. Luisa Belussi.

  More than 20 professors and lecturers from different countries took part in the congress, dissection courses and surgical master classes were held. Professor N.J. Khushvakova, Associate Professor N.O. Khamrakulova and Assistant Professor F.Sh. Iskhakova gave lectures and held seminars within the framework of academic mobility at the University of Naples.

  During the visit, long-term bilateral memoranda were signed between the Samarkand State Medical Institute and the Italian Association of Rhinologists, as well as the Medical University of Naples. These memoranda provide the parties with opportunities for professional development and academic mobility. The number of collaborations between our institute and foreign universities is growing.

  Tours and excursions to Rome were organised for our staff who actively participated in this congress.
