On October 5, Samarkand State Medical Institute was visited by Prof. Nikolay Karyakin, Rector of Privolzhsky Research Medical University, Russian Federation.
The guest was received by Rector of the institute Jasur Rizaev. The agenda focused on the prospects of further development of bilateral cooperation between the two institutions, in particular academic mobility with PRMU, including the creation of opportunities for SamSMI students to study at master's, residency and postgraduate level of education at this institution as well as exchanging researchers and faculty members with PIMU to pursue them PhD and DSc degrees at relevant academic councils.
In addition, PRMU Rector, Nikolay Karyakin visited the new institute building which was opened at the beginning of the academic year and appreciated the conditions created for students and faculty.
During the meeting, the guest took part in a commemorative meeting with students of joint educational programmes which were organised in cooperation with the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the Republic of Poland. During the event, the rectors of the partner institutions expressed their best wishes to the students as they entered the educational programmes and swore the "Hippocratic Oath".
Thus, students admitted to joint international educational programmes at SamSMI solemnly gave the "Hippocratic Oath". After the ceremony, a festive concert programme was presented to the guests and all the participants of the event.
