On June 23, 2021, a meeting was held with students of the Samarkand State Medical Institute under the motto “We are against drug abuse”. The meeting was timed to the World Day against Drug Abuse. The event was attended by representatives of the rectorate, faculty and students from all faculties of the Institute.

  Thus, the event was opened with opening remarks by the Vice-Rector for Youth Work and Spiritual and Educational Work, E.S. Tangirov. The guests of the meeting - the Head of the Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs A.S. Matlyubov, employees of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs U.R. Raupov, S.N. Khasanov, doctor of the Regional Narcological Dispensary, S.L. Baimirov spoke about the measures taken to counter the spread and use of narcotic drugs, emphasized their great harm to human health and society, in particular, ruined families, broken destinies of people and other destructive consequences and noted the comprehensive state policy in this sphere.

  At the end of the event the representatives of the rector's office thanked the guests for their interesting speeches and underlined the importance of bringing the discussed issues to the attention of all students and staff of the Institute.
