On May 18, 2021, the 75th International Scientific Conference of Medical Students and Young Scientists "Modern Medicine and Pharmaceutics: New Approaches and Actual Research", which had already become traditional, was held at Samarkand State Medical Institute. The main purpose of the conference was the involvement of students and young scientists in research activities, effective use of their scientific potential, the discussion of topical issues of pharmacy, clinical and basic medicine, as well as medical education. Over 700 medical students and young scientists from the leading medical universities of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part at the International Scientific and Practical Conference.
At the solemn opening of international scientific conference Rector of Samarkand State Medical Institute Jasur Alimjanovich Rizaev (Samarkand, Uzbekistan), Rector of Istanbul Culture University Gulfettin Celik (Istanbul, Turkey) addressed to the participants with welcoming speeches, Rector of the Uzhgorod National University, Vladimir Ivanovich Smolanka (Uzhgorod, Ukraine), Rector of the Privolzhsky Research Medical University, Nikolay Nikolaevich Karyakin (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia), Rector of the Ternopil National Medical University named after I. Ya. Horbachevsky, Mikhail Mikhailovich Korda (Ternopil, Ukraine), Rector of the Izhevsk State Medical Academy, Alexey Evgenievich Shklyaev (Izhevsk, Russia), Rector of Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Talgat Seitjanovich Nurgozhin (Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan), Rector of Tajik State Medical University named after Abu Ali Ibni Sino Makhmadshokh Kurbonali Gulzoda (Dushanbe, Tajikistan), Director of Institute of Pharmacy, Kazan State Medical University, Ruslan Ibragimovich Mustafin, (Kazan, Russia), Rector of Tashkent Institute of Pharmacy, Kamol Saidakbarovich Rizaev, (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Mahbood Afzal, Director of " Salamah Medical Tourism Pvt. Ltd" (New Delhi, India).
Then, the reports of scientists and researchers from the republic and abroad on actual issues of pharmaceutics, fundamental and clinical medicine were presented at the plenary session of international scientific conference. The main work of the international conference was focused on the sectional sessions, where more than 300 presentations of students and young scientists were made on actual issues and modern achievements in clinical and fundamental pharmacology, innovative approaches in dentistry, otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology, innovative and precision technologies in the study of the origin and treatment of cardiovascular diseases , innovative views of young scientists on the cause of therapeutic and infectious diseases and ways of their correction, use of innovative technologies in improving diagnostic and treatment methods in pediatrics, topical issues of neurology, psychiatry, sports medicine and rehabilitation, obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine, experimental and fundamental medicine, surgery, neurosurgery, urology and traumatology, public health, humanities and education. Sectional sessions, as well as the poster one were organised for the presentation of the work of young scientists. A competent jury evaluated the level of preparation, novelty of the research and quality of the presentations in each section. A special feature of this conference was the active involvement of students and young scientists themselves in the jury of section meetings.
The Organizing Committee of the International Conference had received more than 1500 abstracts, which were published in a special collection in the international Journal of Hepato - Gastroenterology Research.
During the conference with the aim of gradual implementation of "University 3.0" conception that envisages close relations of education, science, innovations and activity on commercialization of research results in higher educational institutions there were also signed memorandums of cooperation with "MEROS PHARM", "INTEGRA DD", "SAMARKAND ENGLAND ECO MEDICAL" (joint company) and joint stock company "Самарканд Дори-Дармон".
The 75th International Scientific-Practical Conference of Medical Students and Young Scientists "Modern Medicine and Pharmaceutics: New Approaches and Actual Research" of Samarkand State Medical Institute will undoubtedly contribute to the involvement of young scientists and students in research activities, efficient use of their scientific potential, development of pharmaceutical field in the country, improvement of training highly qualified personnel in universities across the country, as well as further strengthening of international cooperation.
