On 3 February Rector Prof. J.A. Rizaev visited the Academic Lyceum of SamSMI in order to get acquainted with the educational process. The Rector met with students and teachers of the Academic Lyceum of the Institute.
  So, at the meeting with students Jasur Alimjanovich told about ongoing changes at the institute, opportunities and conditions created for students to receive higher medical education, prospects and future development plans of the institute. In addition, rector emphasized the place of academic lyceum in preparation of future students of the institute, necessity of close integration of teaching and research process between educational institutions, in particular holding regular lectures by representatives of the staff of the institute in the lyceum, which should have a positive impact on the quality of students' knowledge and their acceptance to Samarkand State Medical Institute. Students were particularly pleased with the Rector's message on allocation of 5 rector scholarships and establishment of a new computer class equipped with the most modern equipment.
  Also, during the meeting, the rector awarded certificates and diplomas to winners of the regional stage of the subject Olympiad "Together to Bright Future", which was held among students of secondary and secondary specialised educational institutions. The Rector has invited all pupils of the Academic Lyceum of the Institute to take the most active part in planned mini football competition for the Cup of the Rector of Samarkand State Medical Institute and in other ongoing events. Proposals and questions from students regarding the improvement of the educational process at the Lyceum were also heard.
  Open and sincere conversation of the Rector left the most indelible impression among the students of the Academic Lyceum of the Institute.
