Representatives from SamSMI took part in an international round table on youth deviance prevention

  On April 28, an international interdisciplinary online roundtable on “Improving the system of prevention of suicide among young people and prevention of their auto-aggressive behavior” was held. The forum was organized by the partner university of Samarkand State Medical Institute - Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky and was attended by representatives of leading universities of Saratov region and Moscow (Russia).

  The Samarkand State Medical Institute was represented at the round table by the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Medical Psychology and Narcology A.S. Velilyaeva, Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences A.N. Makhmudova and Senior Lecturer of the Department Sh.F. Majidov.

  The rector of the Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovskiy of the Ministry of Health Care of Russia Andrey Vyacheslavovich Eremin and the co-organizer of the event - the rector of Saratov State Law Academy Ekaterina Vladimirovna Ilgova made the opening speech during the solemn opening of the international round table.

  The speakers presented their research on mental and substance abuse disorders, suicidology, comprehensive experience on suicide prevention and destructive behavior, as well as effective methods of prevention and practical assistance to underage people. In their speeches, representatives of SamSMI – “Legal regulation of the protection of the rights of underage persons in the Republic of Uzbekistan” by A. N. Makhmudova, “Deviant behaviour of youth as a consequence of orthodox upbringing in the family” by A. S. Velilyaeva, “Evolution of modern approaches to the problem of deviant behaviour of youth” by Sh. F. Majidov, - detailed national experience in protecting the rights of children and teenagers, activities of government and non-governmental organizations and institutions, including makhalla, in combating deviant behaviour in society, cited their applied research on problems of deviance and behaviour correction in children and teenagers. The speakers from our Institute also provided substantive answers to all the questions posed by the participants.

  At the end of the round table, the organisers expressed their gratitude to the representatives of the Samarkand State Medical Institute for their informative and interesting presentations.
