Samarkand State Medical Institute has created conditions for comprehensive integration of education and research activities with work practice, use of the latest achievements and modern innovative and scientific-pedagogical technologies in medicine, in cooperation with foreign medical educational institutions. It regularly collaborates with the world's leading educational institutions to provide an exchange of views and experience among qualified professors and scientists.

  Close cooperation has established so far with a number of medical schools and research institutes of the Russian Federation. Thus, lectures, practical seminars and presentations of research papers are held jointly.

  On April 14, a group of professors from North-West State Medical University named after I.I.Mechnikov visited Samarkand State Medical Institute. Head of the department of pathological anatomy at North-West State Medical University, editor-in-chief of the journal "Genes and Cells", Professor Roman Deev and senior lecturer of the department Mikhail Mavlikheev took part in international scientific and practical seminars organized at Samarkand State Medical Institute as part of academic mobility.

  During the visit, Professor Roman Deev delivered a lecture to teachers, young scientists and students of Samarkand State Medical Institute on the topics: "Pathological anatomy of the lungs in new coronavirus infection: reactivity and formation of respiratory epithelium" and "Norms of intestinal epithelium histophysiology". The guests also gave lectures on histology for pediatric and dental students and on pathological anatomy for medical students within the framework of academic mobility.

  In the course of friendly meeting, Rector of SamSMI Jasur Rizaev and Russian Professor Roman Deev noted that cooperation in education and science between both countries will contribute to the training a new generation of highly qualified professionals who will create innovations and accelerate this process.
